What does HeatSeal® mean?
The thermal processes used in the fabrication of HeatSeal® switches use heat and pressure to produce a true hermetic seal. The adhesive bond produced in the HeatSeal® process is superior to that of PSA construction found in other switches. The HeatSeal® bond effectively seals out harmful environmental contaminants that can cause failure in standard PSA switches. Because air neither enters nor escapes a HeatSeal® switch, external venting is not required even when subjected to changes in temperature or atmospheric pressure. Learn more.
What are the benefits of a Telamco membrane switch?

How can I get a tactile response on a membrane switch?
Stainless steel domes, embossed polyester domes or tactile embossed graphics can be used to provide the contact snap your design requires. There are also times when an audible click is a requirement. When tactile feedback is desired we look at three options:
- Stainless Steel Domes: Provides a ridged button push. Offers the ability to hear and feel a button actuation response.
- Polyester Dome: Optimal for flat surface graphics and high volume orders. Polyester domes can be added to the top circuit layer during manufacturing.
- Tactile Embossed Graphics: A polyester dome is placed in the graphic top layer to create a raised key feel.
What is embossing?
Embossing creates a raised surface that can be completed on many buttons or a single button to provide differentiation. The appearance and sensory impact of your membrane switch can be improved using embossed keys.
- Pillow Embossing: Raising the entire key.
- Rim Embossing: Raising the frame of an area.
- Tactile Embossed: Rounded form giving tactile feedback.
What is the difference between indicator lighting and backlighting?
Indicator lighting is to show a discrete function whereas backlighting is when you want to illuminate your switch in low light conditions. Both are available in a variety of colors.
